This is a brand new adventure for me, since I've never attempted a blog in my life, but I guess there's a first time for everything. My wife is always telling me I'm way too opinionated, and she's right of course, but since moving to California last year there have been so many things that I've seen that just cry out for comment.
I am an officer in the U.S. Air Force, where I've served for just over seventeen years. I spent most of the first thirteen years of my career enlisted and the last four years as an officer. During that time I've been stationed all over the US, from sea to shining sea. I spent five years in North Carolina, four years in Alaska, three years in Texas, three years in Nebraska and the last year-and-a-half in California. Through many deployments I've spent significant time in countries like Oman, Saudi Arabia (twice), Uzbekistan, United Arab Emirates (where I'm currently deployed), and my personal favorite (outside of the US), Norway. It is my firm belief that the US is the greatest country ever conceived and will continue to be so long as we keep fighting to hold on to the values it was established by.
I look forward to discussing ideas with fellow conservatives in the future through this forum. I love the new Townhall.com layout and reading it is one of the highlights of my day, especially now that I'm deployed away from my loved ones. It is because of my faith in my country and in my leaders that I am able to volunteer (yes, I volunteered to come over here) for a mission that takes me away from my wife and my four wonderful children for months on end. I'm taking up blogging as a way to take up some of my time and to maybe, just maybe, not bombard my wife so much with all of my opinions as often as I do. But I wouldn't bet on it.
